The area’s first Future Leaders Diversity and Inclusion Summit will be held at the Hampton Performing and Creative Arts Center/Aquatic Center on September 1, 2016. Hampton Roads youth between the ages of 15 – 21 are invited to attend and engage in conversations regarding diversity, inclusion and public safety. The goal of the Summit is to develop a vibrant, learning experience that supports young people as active community leaders.
Sponsored by the Hampton Roads Diversity and Inclusion Consortium, FBI Norfolk Citizens Academy Alumni Association, Office of the Attorney General and the Norfolk FBI, the program will provide a venue for presentations and discussions on:
How inclusion is essential for building trust and respect
Racial profiling, freedom of speech and the law
Expectations of law enforcement and drivers
The dangers of risky online behavior
Diversity in the workforce and organizations
How to serve as positive role models for youth
Coaches will be available in every workshop to address questions and engage students in important discussions.
For more information or to register contact Vanessa Torres (email@example.com). Participation is limited to the first 100 registrants.
